Doherty Associates has 30-years experience in the areas of financial analysis, public private partnerships and public policy evaluation. Gerry Doherty has worked in the public sector as the chief policy aide to the Mayor of Wilmington, Delaware and as a Legislative Assistant to US Senator Joe Biden in Washington DC. Doherty also has extensive experience in the private sector with the Keating Company in Philadelphia and as an independent consultant to private developers. Doherty has a BA in Economics from the University of Delaware and an MA in Economics from the University of Connecticut.
Doherty specializes in developing complex, customized financial models used to evaluate proposed or existing real estate development projects. Doherty's financial models and pro formas are client friendly and include "sensitivity" or "what if" analyses to allow the client to rapidly and effectively evaluate the impact of key project assumptions and improve the decision making process. Doherty specializes in HUD's new RAD program by providing Housing Authorities with RAD feasibility analyses of existing projects, RAD Applications and RAD implementation.
